Lucky Crown

The story behind this beer comes from the Gundry family and their ‘lucky crown’.

The said crown first came into the possession of Alfred Horn Gundry in 1845 and since then the crown has graced the pocket of three generations of Gundrys, with uses from ‘window knocker’ to ‘decision maker’, the later of the two being much harder now, as there is no longer a discernible head nor tail due to decades of wear from thumb and pocket lining alike.

The bitter known as ‘Lucky Crown’ has been created using traditional malting barleys and hops, coupled with a methodology that has stood the test of time. The resulting bitter has a flavour which has always proved popular - a balanced, malty character complimented with subtle fruit flavours.
